Hello again, today we had my appointment to make casts of my legs. I was sure we were going to the dog park when Mommy put me in the car but the trip to Ortho pets was even better then the dog park. When I got there everyone was so nice to me and gave me lots of petting, my favorite!
Mr. Kaufmann the owner and creator of Ortho pets took us to the exam room and we got started right away. I wasn't scared one bit! I feel very comfortable with Mr. Kaufmann :)
He began by taking measurements of both my legs. Come to find out my right leg is bigger then my left...who would have thought? He then had Mommy lay me on my side and we had to be very still. It wasn't hard since Mommy was petting me the whole time.
Then they put this sticky plastic stuff on my leg and some tape to hold it on....
After that Mr. Kaufmann put on some rubber gloves and started wrapping the wet casting on my legs. It was cold but I was a good boy and held still the whole time!
Wow does that stuff dry fast. In just minutes it was time to cut the casts off and do the other leg. It was really easy and pain free. Here are my casts they will use to make my braces....
All in all it was another great experience at Ortho pets. I cant wait to get my braces and Mommy talked to Mr Kaufmann and he may even have them ready for me by this Saturday so I can wear them at the Great Dane rescue Wash-a-thon this weekend! Isn't that great!
Well, hopefully by my next blog I will have my braces and be up and running. I really want to thank all my angels out there who have made this possible for me. I hope when you see my happy face it makes everything worth it.
